2018 brought with it a lot of new opportunity. My freelance work was varied and the clients amazing. If I boil the year down to two words I’d say it was full of growth and possibility.
War Eagle IPA
Tacopa Brewing in California is bottling their first beer. Named after the War Eagle Mine close by, this IPA harkens back to the days of the gold rush.
A family owned, North Carolina based spirits company needed a redesign for their coffee afters. This label is inspired by their Irish heritage.
Rooted Leadership Solutions
This coaching organization started to help equip leaders to grow and develop to a height they may have never imagined. The deeper the tree roots go, the more likely an individual will be able to grow and find true north.
An Integrative Man responds to life not only as a duty to fulfill but also as an art to create. This mark needed to be modern and simple, while also being able to extend beyond itself to city locations, women, and have the potential to become a movement.
A mark for a dog supplies brand, debuting with a chew proof dog bed.
Eyes in Bookroo
Bookroo is a monthly subscription box for your kids that helps them fall in love with reading. In 2018, they included Eyes in their board book box.
This was a massive and unexpected step for getting this book into the hands of more families.
10 years together
We celebrated our 10 year anniversary with a trip to Tulum, Mexico. The tacos were incredible, the scenery magnificent, and the company just as magical as it was in 2008!
A full kitchen renovation
Our 1950’s era kitchen contained beautiful hardwood cabinets, however the layout and other finishes we’re less than ideal. We designed a new space that better suited our family and style.
With a contractors help, the kitchen has transformed into an airy oasis.
Two major career milestones happened in 2018:
First, I officially began leading the marketing designers at AWeber, which lead to…
Second, I started a new job at OFC.tv (a creative communications agency and video production studio) as their Creative Director.
I miss the team I spent 5 years growing with; but enjoy the new challenges at OFC.
I always like to stretch myself and learn new skills that are non-digital and non-design related. This year that looked like making my own sourdough starter and learning the art of bread making.
I’ve a long way to go, but forcing myself out of my comfort zone forced me to take the posture of a learner again.
